This Colonial home was designed after Christianas Campbell's Tavern in Williamsburg Virginia. Jerry Williams, a well known architect in Williamsburg, helped design the home after the tavern. The home was constructed in 1978 by Hubert Whitlock and took 2.5 years to build. Many components of the home were relocated to Charlotte from a home in Suffolk Va., that was built in the early 1600's. The exterior wood is black cypress with bead board.The cherry paneled den is designed after the Raleigh Tavern in Williamsburg, Va. Corner boards and beams were pieced together with pegs. The heart pine flooring is hand hewed, tongue and groove. Each board on the main level was hand numbered by the owner. 5 hand made brick fireplaces. Gracious formals, renovated master bathroom, and a historic kitchen with wood beams and a large fireplace. The basement has a full kitchen, bonus room, bedroom and bath. The lot is over an acre and overlooks Carmel Country Club's 8th fairway of the South Course.
